This Fortune 500 company, a world leader in the construction materials industry, re-engaged Pacific to identify a Plant Leader for a important strategic site within a key business unit.
Driven from the CEO and Executive leadership team who started their Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program from phase zero a little over three years ago, acquiring a leader who understood the complexity of getting a TPM program off the ground in this plant was key to the client.
Furthermore, this was the fastest growing site in the North American region. The site had doubled in size over the past year and planning on doubling in size again over the next 18 months. A leader who was comfortable in a fast-paced, lightly structured environment that was able to quickly build connection with hourly employees was a key requirement shared with us at the project kick-off.
As Pacific had successfully delivered the same talent acquisition four previous times around the US and three in Europe for this client in the past two years for the organization, the client engaged us to manage the search.
Using our knowledge and 24 year network in this area, our team were able to target and map organizations that ran similar TPM programs to our client to give them a shortlist of top talent. We delivered a diverse shortlist of candidates and all were chosen to attend onsite meetings with the leadership team.
Working with the leadership team, our recommendation was to acquire an outstanding diverse candidate who was not only the best talent on the market but also brought a different background and ideas to the site leadership team.
He relocated with his family to North Texas prior to joining the firm. He demonstrates a great combination of strategy and leading from the front line and is currently building upon the foundations of the site TPM program while growing the team. The Plant Leader has received recognition for his work and leadership in his first few months.
