Biography and Expertise

Tony Milando is an accomplished C-suite executive with more than 30 years of experience in consumer and industrial verticals. Tony has led standard-setting, cross-functional teams in manufacturing, supply chain, continuous improvement, and mergers and acquisitions. Tony retired from Xylem (NYSE: XYL), a $7billion global water technology company in 2023 where he reported directly to the CEO for more than 8 years. At Xylem, he regularly advised the Board on supply chain strategy, manufacturing operations, and acquisition planning and integration. Tony also represented Xylem at investor conferences.

Tony began his career in public accounting, taking up his first significant private-sector leadership position as VP finance of Black & Decker Canada (Toronto) in 1998. As a business-level CFO, he developed a successful track record for driving cross-functional process improvement and business simplification.

From 2001, Tony led large-scale global procurement and operations organizations. He consistently delivered upper-quartile procurement savings, expanded low-cost sourcing, dramatically improved facility safety records, and drove improved working capital. He takes pride in having left both Black & Decker and Xylem with structured operational excellence improvement systems.

Tony has developed deep expertise in M&A due diligence and integration. He co-led Stanley’s merger with Black & Decker, delivering more than $500m of annualized cost synergies and in 2023, led the integration of Xylem’s $7.5b acquisition of Evoqua Water Technologies.
Throughout his career, Tony built a reputation for resonant leadership – consistently creating strong followership among enterprise thinkers and deep alignment with key stakeholders. His legacy is the high-performing teams he developed and nurtured.

His heartfelt desire to give back is manifested in his volunteer work. For more than a decade, Tony has served on the Board of the GBMC Health Care (a $700 million not-for-profit healthcare system) and is Vice Chair of the Executive committee and Chair of the Compensation Committee.

Tony holds a BS in Accounting and Business Administration from Towson University and an MBA from Loyola University. He is a CPA and an adjunct professor at Towson University. In addition to consulting, Tony serves as a strategic board advisor to Assert AI (www.assertai.com), a computer vision technology company. He currently resides in Maryland with his wife, Deanna.
