Given the unprecedented supply chain difficulties that the world is seeing today, the team was looking for a true change agent for the business and needed a candidate that went above and beyond in their stakeholder management skills as well as their technical expertise in the different categories.
Since Pacific had previously delivered candidates across the business globally, the client asked us to deliver on one of their most crucial roles for their largest business unit with a spend of over $2 billion. The team turned to us as we had successfully placed multiple leaders in their business across many different units. They were struggling to find someone with the executive presence and communication needed during this difficult time and knew that Pacific had the tools to deliver on this Director level search.
Using our knowledge and network in this space, as well as target companies the organization had respect for, Pacific target mapped for the position, and presented a total of eighteen top tier candidates to the client. We were able to place a candidate from a direct competitor. This candidate was an extremely skilled Procurement Director and had been a Global leader responsible for teams across the US, Europe and China.
After an extensive interview process with multiple video calls, an onsite interview, and a personality assessment, the candidate was offered a position with the organisation and accepted with great excitement and appreciation. He began the role in July 2022 and truly hit the ground running in the fast paced and highly challenging supply chain environment. As a leader of over forty individuals and core partner to the stakeholders in the organisation, he is very busy acting as a change agent for the growing business. He is already being looked at as a future successor to the VP of Supply Chain who we worked closely with in the process.
